Barcelona Weather month by month

WHAT TO PACK IN BARCELONA MONTH BY MONTH

Hello travelers!
Here you’ll find the most complete weather guide about Barcelona. Temperatures, type of chothes to wear & pack, and what not to miss!

VERY IMPORTANT tips for your carryon:
  • Remember you can only pack liquid or cream in small containers, not bigger than 100ml. (shampoo, toothpaste, etc)
  • Bring a Roll-on deodorant.
  • Your charger or adapter – 220v
  • Always carry your money, passport and cell phone somewhere you can see it, all the time. No back pockets or bagpacks.
  • It’s not necessary to bring your passport everywhere, just an ID is enough. Leave your passport at the hotel.
  • Also leave one credit card at the hotel in case you are robbed in the streets, you don’t get out of money.

Safe tips:
Just be careful with your belongings, there are pickpockets. They are super fast and invisible so don’t leave anything on the floor. Keep you phone and wallet in your front pockets or somewhere where you can always see it.

In Spring, March to June, be prepare for a temperature between 10ºC (50ºF) at night or very early in the morning and 25ºC (77ºF) during the day. So it can get pretty hot and though May can be a bit rainy, it hardly ever rains.
Always check the forecast, this is a season in which temperature is changing so you may have some cold days and during the day, super hot and sunny afternoons.

(December and March)

Solo traveller in Barcelona. Photo shoot by Pickapictour at Bunkers

Winter in Barcelona will be between 8ºC and 15ºC, which would be around 46ºF to 59ºF. Almost sunny days everyday, and luckily no rain. Check the forecast before packing guys, always!

What is it like Barcelona in Winter?

Barcelona in Winter is a super good choice if you are looking for:

  • Cheaper prices in accommodation and flights, except for Christmas and New Year’s Eve.
  • Empty streets and attractions with less tourists
  • Cold weather but still sunny.
  • Shorter days, sunset at 5/6pm

Make sure your hotel has heating and elevator!

What to pack for Winter in Barcelona?

Let’s start with the shoes:

I always travel with a pair of snickers, specially if I’m going to walk a lot. Barcelona is a walkeable city , check my video Getting Around so that you can see how to move around. I always try to take with me an extra pair of shoes just in case it rains and it gets wet. If you want to go out, remember Barcelona is a super laid-back city, no need for a super production, so a pair of elegant shoes would be enough if you want to go to a fancy club or restaurant. Other than that, snickers or boots, are just fine.

Pants:
In my case I always take jeans or leggins.

Tops:
Some t-shirts or shirts, a sweater and if you are cold, grab a long-sleeve t-shirt underneath your sweater or bring a pullover.

Hardly ever, I use glooves. Maybe just to ride the bike. I don’t even use a hat but it is a small item so you can bring it just in case. I only use a coat or a jacket and my favourite item for winter is the scarf. I love the huge blanket scarf.
